Egg Roll in a Bowl
There are many recipes out there for this tasty combination of all the goodness of an eggroll filling. This is my adaptation.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 medium carrots, cut into matchsticks
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tsp garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 4-5 cups cabbage, chopped
- 2 green onion, sliced
- sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook ground pork over medium-high heat. Drain; remove from skillet.
- To skillet add diced onion, carrots, sesame oil and vinegar. Cook until onion is tender.
- Return pork to pan, add garlic, ginger, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and cabbage. Cook stirring for 5-8 minutes or until cabbage is wilted.
- Remove skillet from heat and stir in green onions. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
Notes
- I’ve made this with both ground pork and ground beef. Ground chicken or turkey would also work.
- You can substitute another oi, but sesame oil will really give it that great egg roll taste
