Marzetti
An Ohio casserole staple–ground beef, tomato sauce, sour cream, noodles and cheese. Classic comfort food!
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 23 ounces tomato sauce
- 12 ounces medium noodles
- 6 green onions
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9"x13" baking dish.
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef. Add garlic, salt, pepper, onion and garlic powders, basil, oregano, sugar and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes
- Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and sour cream until well blended. Stir in sliced green onions.
- In baking dish, layer noodles, cream cheese, sauce and cheddar, ending with cheddar on top.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
