Marzetti

An Ohio casserole staple--ground beef, tomato sauce, sour cream, noodles and cheese. Classic comfort food!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 23 ounces tomato sauce
  • 12 ounces medium noodles
  • 6 green onions
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9"x13" baking dish.
  • In a large skillet, brown ground beef. Add garlic, salt, pepper, onion and garlic powders, basil, oregano, sugar and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes
  • Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and sour cream until well blended. Stir in sliced green onions.
  • In baking dish, layer noodles, cream cheese, sauce and cheddar, ending with cheddar on top.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
