Brownies
Quick, simple basic brownie recipe that never disappoints
Ingredients
- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts, or pecans
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 inch square baking pan and line the bottom with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter over low heat until melted. Remove from heat.
- In a small bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until well combined. Add to the chocolate. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Pour the batter into prepared pan
- Bake for about 25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out almost clean. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes. Loosen sides with a butter knife. Invert onto cooling rack, remove parchment paper and invert again. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Good chocolate is key in a recipe this simple. I typically use a Ghirardelli 60% cacao baking bar.
