Brownies
Quick, simple basic brownie recipe that never disappoints
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 25 minutes mins
- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts, or pecans
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 inch square baking pan and line the bottom with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter over low heat until melted. Remove from heat.
In a small bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until well combined. Add to the chocolate. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Pour the batter into prepared pan
Bake for about 25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out almost clean. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes. Loosen sides with a butter knife. Invert onto cooling rack, remove parchment paper and invert again. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
- Good chocolate is key in a recipe this simple. I typically use a Ghirardelli 60% cacao baking bar.
